Event Details:
Join Sylvia and Carolynn Wilson, co-owners of the Sheffield Park Black History and Cultural Museum, on Saturday, February 21 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Library Program Room for a visual and hands-on presentation exploring Black history in Canada.
This program traces stories from African beginnings to Freedom Seekers, honouring the achievements of people of African descent and highlighting their lasting contributions to our communities. The presentation also emphasizes the importance of community, with a short introduction followed by time to view museum exhibits.
Sylvia and Carolynn Wilson are direct descendants of early Black pioneers to Simcoe and Grey Counties and are residents of Collingwood, Ontario. Their work preserves and shares local Black history through tours and educational programs for visitors and groups.
Everyone welcome, please register.
